Milky Falls is a beautiful place to spend time outside, without having to hike much at all. Many other waterfalls in Utah require a bit of a trek to reach them, but this very short trail walks you right up to the falls. A bench is located at the base of the falls, a great place to sit down and enjoy the scenery.
During our afternoon there, we decided to follow the steep trail up the side of the falls to get a better view. This was a ton of fun, and made the drive up the mountain even more worth it. We got some great views of the mountains and valleys below, and the aspen trees looked amazing with their yellow and orange leaves. This ended up being a great place to enjoy the fall colors!
On our way down, we decided to be a little adventurous and make our way down the waterfall, downclimbing the rocks and logs. If you do this, be sure to be careful. Pick your way carefully, some of those rocks can be extremely slick. One of us may or may not have slipped and ripped our pants that day…
We would definitely recommend making the drive up the mountain to spend time at this waterfall. It’s a great place to escape to for a couple of hours if you need a break from work or school. We hope you take the time to enjoy it as much as we did!
